398741 2005-10-24 03:53:00 my Administrative Tools folder in the control panel is randomly empty, anyone no why this would be and how to fix it.

Or alternatively some other way to access the disk management tools in XP Pro.

Thanks

398742 2005-10-24 04:00:00 Not sure why it would be intermittently empty, are you logging onto a domain that may have a Group policy?

Anyway, right click "My Computer" then "manage" which will take you to the Computer management console.

398743 2005-10-24 05:31:00 do you login as administrator? dds (7234)
398744 2005-10-24 06:14:00 thanks for that battleneter.

I have tried logging on as Administrator as well, but its empty there too.

Unfortuntly im not sure when it decided to empty itself, so i can't really tell why it did.

cheers. i had actaully come across that when i googled for missing admin items, but it appears to be for the start menu shortcut to admin tools, rather than the folder in Control Panel. Decided i'd run there script anyway, and now its back.

Thanks
