That's a link much recommended here to get rid of Norton's and all it's bad smells.

I can't recommend it myself coz it's a long time since I had anything to do with that estimable house

(long time past Norton user.)

398758 2005-10-24 06:40:00 Hi Shady,
I am an Avast convert after AVG started giving me grief by hanging on to emails & wouldn't download them properly, I had been using AVG for a couple of years but not anymore.
Avast is much less annoying & easy to use.
Pauline.

398763 2005-10-24 23:30:00 Does anyone here use and recomend Avast? currently using Nortons 30 day trial and wondering if there is anything better than Nortons

Yes, as has been stated, almost anything. If you want free, go with AVG. If you want paid or require the extra protection that, supposedly, professional AV software provides, then Eset's NOD32 (www.nod32.com) is widely recognised as the best AV programme.

NOD32 NZ Pricing (www.nod32.co.nz)

The NZ agent is Chillisoft (www.chillisoft.co.nz).

I bought 2 years worth about this time last year, and haven't regreted it at all (discount for multi user or more than 1 year IIRC). I trialled it first and would advise you to do the same to ensure everything is hunky dory.
