| 399620 | 2005-10-27 01:29:00 | Hi all, does anyone have the name of Ihug's news (NNTP) server? I used to have this - news.akl.ihug.co.nz, but now it has only one newsgroup in that server - alt.shut.the.hell.up.geek I was using telecom router and now swap to Ihug's router. Be\4 the change it was alright. Why it is not now? Anyone can help. Thanks in advance. |

| 399623 | 2005-10-27 02:00:00 | Yup, thats the right server news . akl . ihug . co . nz There's definitely more than 1 newsgroup here . I'm in it . Are you in Auckland?? There's more than one server for Ihug, if you're somewhere else . Are you with Ihug?? It was more than 1 newsgroup before . Ever since I have changed my telecom rented router to ihug new router, I can see lots of newsgroups but cannot retrive any messages posted on the newsgroups . So I tried to remove the news server (news . akl . ihug . co . nz) and re-entried again . Wa lah!, it has gone worse - only one newsgroup showing . Yes, I am in Auckland and with iHUG . If I add a new server (msnews . microsoft . com), it has more than one newsgroups and I can retrieve the messages posted . Just couldn't figure out why . Would it be my router setting? Thanks |

Theyre not usually needed for XP, but are for some previous versions of Windows to get onto the net . The above ips are entered under the dialup, or on a LAN / Network card / properties . The above ip addresses are also Ihug's email server ip addresses . |
