399245 2005-10-25 18:31:00 Hello, I'm interested in a program that will keep my registry in good health, but that I don't have to pay for. I tried one program before but I think it was a major cause of some headaches (free too).

I'm hoping that maybe it'll fix this little issue I've been having, since I believe it was changes to the registry that's caused it. Anything you'd reccomend?

399247 2005-10-28 13:41:00 If you want to make changes in Registry without enough experience, it can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall Windows.
I’m not sure that it’ll be possible to solve problems resulting from your work with Registry.

399249 2005-10-28 17:44:00 ccleaner also has a registry cleaner in it . And its free .

Does a better job, than most I've seen . As some registry cleaners, can totally kill / screw your system . And delete valid registry entries .

The latest version of cleaner also has a open in regedit option after u click on issues and click on scan for issues . ie: if u select this, it'll take you to the entry in regedit . Instead of u trying to find it .

You just have to make sure you know what you're doing / deleting in the registry!

399252 2005-10-28 21:26:00 Getting another registry editor is not likely to fix any problems caused by another registry editor if the first one has removed entries that were required . If you think the registry editor caused your problems you are best to restore the backups that it should have made to see whether that improves things .

All good registry editors will make backups prior to changing the registry but if yours didn't then you will have to fix the problems another way . Start a new thread with details of your version of Windows and the problems if you need more help .
