| 399098 | 2005-10-25 06:18:00 | Hi I want to run a network between 2 computers, my current one and my older 1. i have a USB modem (Dlink,DSL-200). both computers have ethernet card installed. i was wondering if it is possible to share files bothways aswell as internet on my old PC. |

| 399100 | 2005-10-25 07:14:00 | how do i do that. im trying to connect both computers but no success. my current comps IP is 169.254.10.168 & subnet mask is 255.255.0.0 the other comp which also runs XP Pro IP address is 169.254.10.167 & same subnet mask (255.255.0.0) but when i type in \\169.254.10.168 in the run dialogue from the other computer it tells me it is unable to connect. and also it shows bytes sent/recivd but no connection. Also how do i setup internet on the other computer. |

| 399101 | 2005-10-25 07:29:00 | Where did the 169.xx.xx.xx ips come from?? Go to my network places in XP. Highlight the LAN icon / properties/TCP/IP on both. Whats it on?? Obtain an ip automatically, or is it on use the following ip address?? And did you make a new folder then share it on both?? If any firewalls are installed, you also have to configure this, to get into the other PC's folder. |
