400312 2005-10-31 17:58:00 And I say again, update to SP1 or SP2.

And get the latest XP patches/updates.

Or you'll have more problems later.

400313 2005-10-31 17:59:00 Since it's Monday morning here in the US and I think NZ is sleeping right now, I will give you the results of your newest scan if you don't mind . . . .

Hey Speedy . . . I see you are awake! I got this in a little late . . . . . by 5 or 6 minutes!

MSIE: Internet Explorer v6 . 00 (6 . 00 . 2600 . 0000) Possibly out of date
Shows the version of your Internet Explorer . Newest Version is: 6 . 00 . 2900 . 2180!
The version (6 . 00 . 2600 . 0000) is out of date . Check Windowsupdate to update the Internet Explorer .

O4 - HKLM\ . . \Run: [mouseElf] D:\PROGRA~1\GENIUS~1\mouseElf . exe Unknown application . (might be a mouse driver . . . is this the name on your mouse?)
**********************************************

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\ . . \{3909FE0E-017E-46EE-BE46-66F2C1A4F810}: NameServer = 58 . 28 . 4 . 2 58 . 28 . 6 . 2 Possibly nasty
If this Domain does not belong to your ISP, or your firms network, these entries should be fixed . 'SearchList' entries should be fixed too .
Do you know the IP or Domain '58 . 28 . 4 . 2 58 . 28 . 6 . 2'? If not, fix this entry .

O21 - SSODL: SystemCheck2 - {54645654-2225-4455-44A1-9F4543D34546} - D:\WINDOWS\System32\vbsys2 . dll Unknown, possibly nasty unless you know what this is and have installed it or it came on your OE installation .

Get the newest Internet Explorer, check out that possible mouse driver and the domain name to see if it's bogus or not; as far as the last entry . . . I don't know it at all and neither do the scan-testers I used . That one is a shot in the dark .

Everything else looks clean . . . . I have a personal thing in NOT letting SYSTEM RESTORE run at all . I never use it . . . it is a good hiding place for all sorts of malware and viruses, so I keep it turned off . . . . but then again, I have the full XP install discs too so I can burn things down and start all over when I want to .
