........and not just because it's free either!

400964 2005-10-31 19:40:00 How much do you want to pay, or is it a freebie you are after?

The best freebie is The Gimp, although IrfanView is very quick to start up and has some very good features although not as detailed as The Gimp.

Check the latest ULead photo editor - much cheaper than PhotoShop and nearly the same features. If you search around you can probably download - legally - an old version of ULead that will still have heaps of editing options.

download.com is a good place to start

400965 2005-10-31 21:25:00 I have Photoshop which costs a lot, but use mostly Picasa2 an excellent freebie..Ron.. Ron24 (337)
400966 2005-10-31 23:09:00 oh well, depends on where are you going to use it for?

400967 2005-11-01 22:06:00 I have several image editing programs but usually go for picassa for quick & easy touch ups of pictures. Have found though that picassa does not seem to actually change the image on the hard drive, just the way you view it. ie if you edit a pic in picassa, then open the same pic with a different program it will appear unchanged. Graphic Workshop Professional is also worth a look. You can download a fully working evaluation copy from http://www.mindworkshop.com/ NIGGEL (2358)
