401028 2005-11-01 17:16:00 Hi everybody,

Thanks Bruce, I hope you are better now.

I had a pc which went dead. I decided to upgrade it and I got stuck with a KM3M-V, DDR Sucket A mother board new, with new memory and new powwer supply. only the CPU is the old Duron 1.2GHz.
when I switch it on everything spins for few seconds then it stops. any further switching won't work. I have to unplug the power cable from the wall and then the switch will work again for few seconds. Nothing appears on the screen, no beep and it seem that it does even check the keyboard.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be the fault?

I will appreciate any help of any kind.

Thanks
Andre

401030 2005-11-07 18:08:00 Hi
I pulled the board out as suggested and run it. The outcome was the same.

Press the switch ON, evrything spins for 15-20 seconds and goes off. to restart the system I have to unplug the power cable from the sucket as before. I tried several times - same result.

Does anyone have another solution?

regards,

Andre

401031 2005-11-07 19:24:00 Did u plug the 4 pin ATX plug into the motherboard, from the power supply as well?

It looks like the mobo has this connection . Nothing will work, without this connection plugged in .

It looks like the mobo has this connection . Nothing will work, without this connection plugged in .

I bought a new power supply and the 4-pin sucket is plugged . I also put a new heat compound beween the processor and the heat sink . The PC does not shutdown but nothing appears on the screen .

Any ideas? I don't think the board id dead as this is the 2nd new one .

thanks
