| 402051 | 2005-11-04 21:39:00 | You're better off removing startup items and stuff running in the background you don't need than getting progs to speed up your computer. Having more software running to make what software you want to run go faster sounds arsey-boo to me. Get to know what's on your comp, what's running, what you need, what you don't. Have a look through the FAQs here. Sure BIOS updates are free, but you better know your BIOS and why you want to update it. Never done a BIOS update so don't really know much about it. But back to speed. Have a look on the net for things like "computer too slow" or "computer speed" or "internet speed." All sorts of sites about how to speed things up. | 402054 | 2005-11-04 23:17:00 | Defrag the hdd in safe mode. Go here http://www.ccleaner.com and get ccleaner. And get rid of the rubbish files on the hdd. If the PC is a slow one, none of the above will fix that. Get a faster PC. It also depends on how much ram you have. And the speed of the CPU. If you mean speed like, when you're on the net, get broadband or wireless. Something better than dial-up. And spyware/adware etc will also make you go slow, until u remove it. |
