401866 2005-11-04 17:01:00 I have a home network (wired not wirless) and I use it to share files between this pc, another desktop PC and a laptop. My question is, is there a way to share a USB port, so anything pluged into the port is available on the other computers on the network? Adam678 (6880)

You could try sharing the USB key, or whatever it is, (If it gives you the option), thats plugged into the USB port.

You cant share the USB port itself.

A USB device like a USB key / printer etc would have to be plugged into it first, then shared.

401868 2005-11-04 23:50:00 You could actually "share" a port directly with a USB switching HUB (www.ascent.co.nz) , but just sharing them as whole drive through Windows File Sharing would be cleaner.

Here is a discussion oh how to get fire sharing to remain in place between reboots (www.experts-exchange.com)

Alternatively you could have automatic syncing between your USB drive and the PC's hard drive it is plugged into and share that instead.
