401873 2005-11-04 10:42:00 I Made a DVD of a movie which has an aspect ratio of 16:9.
Now when I play it on the computer via VLC media player its all A-OK. I can see the whole film.
When I try it on my DVD machine (Dick Smith code G1518) I only see a centred portion of the movie with the rest cut off.

E.G I wanted THIS (pages.quicksilver.net.nz) and ended up with something like THIS (pages.quicksilver.net.nz)

Would this be a DVD machine issue? Would burning at 4:3 do anything?

Edit: Oh almost forgot. The program I used to make it was AVI2DVD if that helps

Is the TV you're playing it on a widescreen TV?? Thats what 16:9 means.

4:3, is for normal TV.

401876 2005-11-04 20:05:00 Burn it in again in 4:3, it should fit the whole screen .

Thats what 16:9 / widescreen does .

If u have a dvd movie which is widescreen, you'll see that it maybe similar to the 2nd link you gave .

Or if you have Sky, and watch movies the WS u see on the TV (before the movie), means widescreen, which is the same as 16:9 .
