401747 2005-11-04 03:12:00 Hi,
In cleaning up any useless data- I see in "My Documents" a folder headed drivers.
In that are three icons
1 HPdj516en self extractor:
2 sis530_vga 9X_106:
3 ESS solo1>ess_AP and win 31 inside
seeing they are in "My Docs"- I assume they were stored there -in one case in 2002
Surely I can delete them ?
I am now using XP and have long ceased to recognise the above- as I say probably put there in case I acxcidently deleted them elsewhere

401748 2005-11-04 03:36:00 My documents is only for storage, so deleting those will not interfere with the operational side of Windows. pheonix (36)
401749 2005-11-04 03:45:00 Thank you Phoenix,
After so many years learning - I can panic very easily - laugh at my expense- I started out using an Amiga - just before the W386 came in - and I formatted the hardrive when I pressed the wrong button- and to make matters worse the miseable sods who taught me as school kids still rag me about it
and at 73 years of age my confidence still takes a dive :badpc:

I only wish people were so careful with deciding what to delete.

401751 2005-11-04 04:08:00 Effie, I haven't looked them up but those files could possibly be drivers for your printer and motherboard components so I would be inclined to keep them if you still have those items.

Are you using the same printer and computer as in 2002?

401752 2005-11-04 07:04:00 Hi Susan,
No luckily- the
HP driver pertained to a 670C HP that packed a sad and in desperation I tracked down an Epsom C45,at $99 -only to find even that price at DSE was $68 a few weeks later :o
And the other two files, now deleted also, went back year or so, so no harm done- certainly not as when I formatted the h/d on an Amiga, and it ate itself to death- hence my panic if I did similar- and those two brats ( now grown up) still give me a hard time- talk about the younger generation- in fact I have grandkids older now than they were when that happened-- talk about cheek :D
