| 401841 | 2006-02-15 20:49:00 | The Linksys model I had that was faulty was the AG241 the Wan IP light wouldn't even come on red or green. Tried it on 2 computers and 2 IPs. Trevor :) |

| 401844 | 2006-02-23 21:02:00 | Yep, Same problem as you. I needed a Wireless ADSL router in a hurry for my boss to take to Auckland, bought a Linksys WAG54G from DSE as I'd heard good things about Linksys. Spent 3 or 4 frustrating hours testing on my xtra connection at home (never had a problem with my 3com router), got intermittent connections, DSL light wouldn't stick most of the time. Took work offline for 5 minutes to test here (totally different setup), got steady dsl so assumed the problem was my connection at home, setup it up for PPPoE for our Telstra connection in AKL and gave it too my boss. After an hour or so on the phone to him yesterday, gave up. Got steady DSL light, red Internet light. I triple-checked the settings, I've setup numerous ADSL modems/routers before with no problems. There is something not right with the Linksys router, I upgraded the firmware but didn't make a difference. Helpdesk was Phillipines or somewhere with is unacceptable and no help what so ever. Bak to DSE I go for a refund. |

| 401845 | 2006-02-23 21:54:00 | Hello Stuart, Welcome to the forums..... I have to disagree, the Linksys Router I have (older V1) works fine, the newer V2 is even better. I setup the new 1 for my boss at his house. Having the PVC option is brillant, changing from one login to another works a treat. Be careful flashing though, there are heaps of flashes/overseas models, yoy have to be sure to get the right one. |

| 401846 | 2006-02-24 23:35:00 | Happy camper now, had one last look on the internet before going to dse and found newer NZ specific firmware 1.01.23 (not on the linksys website, couldn't find it there). Updated the router and Bob's your uncle, works like a dream. I did visit DSE to express my displeasure at them for selling me a product that wasn't setup for NZ correctly. I just got blank looks. :waughh: Heres the link xthost.info |
