| 401658 | 2005-11-03 21:55:00 | Any? CDr and DVDr also??? Let me rephrase that  CDR and CDRW it did . I removed directcd / cd creator, since it started to make coasters, after I installed SP2 - for cds, (this is/was cd creator 6) . Version 7 might . I dont know . I haven't got this either . Dunno about DVD's . Since I dont use directcd, as above . I wouldnt bother formatting DVDr's for backing up . I just chuck updates, on a spare partition, or will burn them to normal cd . I just use this DVD burner for video editing stuff thru Nero 6, now 7 . And a few MP3 cd's . |

In Nero, I dont format if I do a data disk, since it'll add the files, I want to the cd (havent tried DVD), and just keep it open (multisession), so I can add to it later. |

| 401661 | 2005-11-04 05:30:00 | Not long ago I change the way I transfer data etc to disc...using winamp pro now to create audio cds and Nero Incd for formatting cdrw&dvdrw...for drag and drop. I haven't even burn a saved DVD on hard drive to disc yet...(not sure cos I'm scared it might be illegal...) Just back ups and data transfers... I once come across some error about ASPI...but since SP2 upgrade all is well... |

Hey Speedy: You sure you're not talking about session info? That's a whole lot different than formatting a dvd or cd-r. Once "formatted" (or actually written to) the sectors are closed and not writeable..and as far as readable, that's the reason for the "not addressable" error..there ain't nothin' on it! |

| 401663 | 2005-11-04 05:57:00 | No multisession . There's an option in Nero for this . (Nero Express / data /data cd / add, add whatever files, then click on add / close) . The option says allow files to be added later (multisession disc) . On the burn screen . Tick it, add files, burn the data to the cd, take the cd out, it stays open till u put the cd in again, and use Nero again . And untick multisession then burn more files to it again . Unticking multisession, will finalise the cd the next time you burn the data/files to the cd . Then you wont be able to add anything else to that cd . Using Nero you dont have to worry about formatting as Nero will do it for you and keep it open if u want to add to it . |
