402651 2005-11-08 03:53:00 The sound from my computer is terrible!, both speakers and headphones.

I want to try to adjust the tone in 'Tone Controls', but theyre grayed out, i cant touch them.

Anyone know how to solve this??

Im running Xp, just using the onboard sound card thing.

402652 2005-11-08 03:59:00 What kinda mobo, audio chip are you using?

Have you got the latest drivers for the onboard sound and chipset drivers for your mobo?

That's your 1st and best start point.

cheers

402653 2005-11-08 04:05:00 The mobo is a Gigabyte GA-8I945p Pro. And all drivers are up to date pcdj19 (9216)
402654 2005-11-08 04:15:00 Look in device manager. Anything showing a ! X, or a ? here? Speedy Gonzales (78)
402655 2005-11-08 04:19:00 No, its all working correctly. Its just that the sound is terrible. Theres about as much bass as in a string and paper cup phone. pcdj19 (9216)
402656 2005-11-08 04:23:00 Might be stuffed soundcard drivers, download and reinstall the latest version. Speedy Gonzales (78)
402657 2005-11-08 04:28:00 Agreed or alternatively try a driver version that is a bit older... say may 1 or to releases before the latest ones?

cheers

402658 2005-11-08 04:43:00 As it says here, did u install the UAA drivers BEFORE u installed the audio drivers?
