402577 2005-11-07 19:20:00 Have done a stupid thing in that I inadvertently deleted all the "sent items" and the box will no longer store any items.
Any ideas how to restore the "sent item" box.

402578 2005-11-07 19:44:00 If Sent Items will no longer show new messages you have sent it may be corrupted.
First go to Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Send tab.
Click to select the Save copy of sent messages in the Sent Items folder check box.
4. Click Apply, and then click OK.

If you don't want to retrieve any messages you have deleted in sent items close OE and go to Find/Files or folders and search for sent items.dbx
Delete the sent items.dbx and restart OE and new one will be created.

More detailed information at this link if you want to save existing deleted items

Note if you are using XP .dbx files are hidden and you will need to do the following first to view them

To view these files in Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under
Start | Control Panel | Folder Options | View.
