403039 2005-11-10 03:25:00 I really like the idea of a device like the latest PDA's that give you access to a basic system. No hardware setups or software tampering required, just switch on, add personal details and go! Easy-to-navigate menus that don't need a mouse.

Can anyone tell me how to set up a cheap PC to do this? I am trying to avoid having an OS that requires a mouse to use - just like a Treo or similar. It's main function is to connect to the net to access email.

And, I want to use a 17" lcd screen and a full size keyboard.

Any ideas??

403040 2005-11-10 03:35:00 You can nivigate through windows without a mouse.

If you want a smaller OS then use W98........

403042 2005-11-10 04:12:00 There's a computer not far from me right now which runs Windows XP Embedded, 300 MHz Pentium, 256M memory, no disk. Boots fairly quickly and runs IE. No user setup, or software configuration even allowed. But of course, there's a hitch. It gets everything downloaded from a server running Terminal Services. Graham L (2)
