I have had enough trying to export my Outlook express mails since all the time it tells me there is a MAPI error. I just think that it should be possible to write the Outlook express files from my old computer to a USB stick and write them in the same directory again on the new computer. is that right or is it silly thinking? Where do I find them? I suspect there will be a file holding all the messages and some kind of management file with pointers?
Cheers

402946 2005-11-11 11:46:00 If you can still open Outlook Express, you can go into the File menu and Export and then save to your USB drive.

If you can't do that, then the files you need exist in your User's Profile directory, under Windows XP that's C:\Documents and Settings\~your_user\Application Data???\Microsoft??? sorry you'll have to browse for it as I've been away from Windows too long, but you should find the Outlook Express directory, what you could do is copy that directory. Create a new user maybe the same computer or different and paste that directory under that user and then try accessing it, that also does depend if that MAPI error is not related to the User only though, don't overwrite an already existing user if you don't want to lose their emails.
