402914 2005-11-09 04:12:00 This is another strange thing I just noticed .

Whatever puter I 1st turn on in my local network, GoogleTalk assumes that puter as the primary site for itself and self-starts there .

I am then blocked from using GoogleTalk by any other units on the same network .

Any ideas as to settings to make it only work on this unit?

402915 2005-11-09 07:19:00 I don't use googletalk, but it sounds like it is in the startup and auto-launches/connects. Is there not a setting to stop the program starting when Windows does? If not, then kill it in the startup using msconfig. Then you should be able to manually start the program on which ever computer you prefer. Jen (38)

Hmmmm . . the funny thing is that I never loaded it (GTalk) into any of the other puters . . . it just sorta migrated there and set up a new household for itself and uses my primary/only screenname/address as the link . If I want to use GTalk on another unit, I have to go and sign out of the others first . .

I must've given it some sort of global permission to do that . . . I guess .

Let me ask a Q:

If I remove GTalk by using the msconfig area, then I get a notice that there has been a change to the configuration at the next boot-up and that Windows then takes over and re-installs the original setting . . isn't that a little strange too . Why does Windows do this? :waughh: I thought I was the master (as Administrator) and can make these changes without being clobbered by M$ gibberish when I do these things .
