| 402940 | 2005-11-09 07:25:00 | Unless one enters maths formula into Excel in the order in which it evaluates it, one can get the wrong answer, so it is prudent to check with a manual calculator...just in case. Lotus 123 had a "Single Step" feature that enabled formula results to be shown at each setp, but up until 2003 there was no similar feature in Excel. Does anyone know of a utility that will do this job for Excel 2000 please? Ian G |

| 402942 | 2005-11-09 23:47:00 | Not sure if this feature existed in Excel 2000, but both 2002 and 2003 versions have the 'evaluate formula' feature. This is accessible by Tools-> Formula Auditing -> Evaluate Formula. This performs a step by step evaluation of the formula giving the value at each step. This is really useful when you have complicated functions! The evaluate formula can also be accessed from the 'Formula Auditing' toolbar if you have it displayed. |
