2014-08-04 08:22:00 | Was reading that earlier on, then spent some time going through all the comments :xmouth: Seems sky doesn't have to many positive remarks. I suspect a lot of the people who make the comments seem to forget , is not everyone in NZ has the internet capabilities for the alternatives. | wainuitech (129) | |
2014-08-04 12:01:00 | kudos to slingshot for this. Skytv is out of date and seriously needs to go burn in a fire while being plowed up the ass by a horse named Jim. 50 bucks a month for their base service and it doesn't even come without ads? **** that noise. The only way I'd pay for TV was if it was both high quality, non repetitive **** and ad free. Guess what, the internet already IS that, for free. And netflix is all that, minus the copyright infringement, for not a lot more than free.

2014-08-04 20:31:00 | LOL, people know about the Slingshot thing anyway....ads or not. And some don't care, I like Sky, I am not interested in watching streamed fiction....or anything streamed at this point, maybe later, but it won't be fiction..... And I sure wouldn't sign up with Slingshot just because of that.....I'd do Netflix or whatever myself. Big fuss over nothing......

2014-08-04 22:09:00 | So Sky bans adds for a service that is no better than pirating "Global Mode is a free feature provided by Slingshot that lets its customers bypass country blocks and sign up to overseas online services such as Netflix, which are not supposed to be offered in New Zealand." "Global Mode was a way of illegitimately accessing Netflix which "did not pay for content rights in this territory", she said." So yeah, Sky paid for the rights to show certain TV shows in NZ, why wouldnt they try & stop this sort of thing

2014-08-04 23:37:00 | This is the first shift; the CEOs are grabbing mass $$, next step the lawyers pounce, it is almost like a training school for high political office. Meanwhile the cattle bellow mightily at being fed stuff that has already been eaten once. ;) | R2x1 (4628) | |

So yeah, Sky paid for the rights to show certain TV shows in NZ, why wouldnt they try & stop this sort of thing It's a lot better than piracy, Netflix got paid and by way of them so did the content producers. So what if some assclown along the way wasn't able to charge some extra (and no doubt extraneous) international contents rights fee? If you want to look at who are the bad guys, find whoever thinks we should pay extra fees just because we are in a different country! |
