1393273 2015-01-29 08:34:00 Try clear formatting in word. Then format (i.e. justify, etc) to suit. Or open your polaris doc in Kingsoft office - which is more compatible with MS word. Then copy over to pc, then see if it opens in word ok. kahawai chaser (3545)
1393274 2015-01-29 10:41:00 Method of removing formatting in Word and PowerPoint is to select the text and press Ctrl + Spacebar to remove all character formatting or Ctrl + Q to remove just the paragraph formatting. zqwerty (97)
1393275 2015-01-29 20:46:00 Thanks for your help.
I did open the file, in wps, that had been created in Polaris, saved it, and opened in Word. Didn't fix the problem.
However, I have reopened the file on the desktop that had been "saved as" a text file, and it now seems to have all the formatting removed and I can get to work. I don't know why it is now right but all's weel that ends well.

1393276 2015-01-29 20:48:00 Thanks again.
I had tried ctrl-q which did some good; in the past I used to find that ctrl-q solved many issues.
I wasn't aware of the Ctrl-spacebar shortcut so I'll remember that.
Anyway, I have reopened the file on the desktop that had been "saved as" a text file, and it now seems to have all the formatting removed and I can get to work. I don't know why it is now right but all's well that ends well.

1393277 2015-01-29 21:43:00 Well I've downloaded wps and opened the .docx file created by Polaris Office. The result is the same I'm afraid. The only solution I see now is retyping the whole thing, or doing a million cut and pastes. Otherwise I'm waiting on Polaris to see what they can suggest (if they even respond).

There still must be a solution in Word itself to remove whatever formatting the file has come with, and changing it. I've added all the formatting characters and they show nothing out of the ordinary.

Thanks for all your ideas.

Ah, forget my suggestion then - Word etc for Android tablet requires 4.4 or above.
