However, I have reopened the file on the desktop that had been "saved as" a text file, and it now seems to have all the formatting removed and I can get to work. I don't know why it is now right but all's weel that ends well. |

I wasn't aware of the Ctrl-spacebar shortcut so I'll remember that. | 1393277 | 2015-01-29 21:43:00 | Well I've downloaded wps and opened the .docx file created by Polaris Office. The result is the same I'm afraid. The only solution I see now is retyping the whole thing, or doing a million cut and pastes. Otherwise I'm waiting on Polaris to see what they can suggest (if they even respond). There still must be a solution in Word itself to remove whatever formatting the file has come with, and changing it. I've added all the formatting characters and they show nothing out of the ordinary. Thanks for all your ideas. Ah, forget my suggestion then - Word etc for Android tablet requires 4.4 or above. |
