1380798 2014-08-06 08:46:00 I found 2D coverage to get a bit iffy on the fringes of Ak (ie no coverage)

Are you sure 2D data rolls over , they dont say that (cant see it)

I'm with 2D at the mo, one issue I had is that if you go over data use they charge you at 50c per meg.
Thats a bit of an issue if you dont know youve used all the data.

What happens with all these carriers if you run out of call minutes on $19/$16 prepay packs?
does the ph simply stop calls (2D does), do Vod skinny stop call or do they just auto charge you at std rates ?

My ph is not locked, so no issues there.

Edit - I think the auto renew thing is on the anniversary of the month. So if you finish the mins or data before it is over it might be casual rate.

Not sure about Skinny as I don't have that yet but their casual data rate is now increaesd to 49c per MB.

See here the data is certainly carryover.

Obviously if the reception is not workign for you then give it a try with a diff SIM.

Once you use all of your Combo’s MB your data will stop. Just like that. No more chewing through your credit. Just buy a data Add-On to get going again.

If you use all your minutes, texts or data before your Combo runs out you will be charged our standard rates.

1380800 2014-08-06 21:39:00 Just thank your lucky stars you don't live in Ozz. Prepay starts at $30 / month and in the case of Vodafone AU it's a 28 day month. SIMs expire 60 days after last topup.. paulw (1826)
1380801 2014-08-06 22:40:00 I went with Skinny prepay , I am in the process of having my old cell number transfer as well.
Got the 1st month free .

1380802 2014-08-06 22:44:00 Telecom has the free 1GB wifi at phone booths, which will remain free for value packs, and contracts. But will charge for other carriers later on, so may want to check if charging for Skinny. kahawai chaser (3545)
1380803 2014-08-06 23:04:00 Skinny dont offer that free wifi service, thats why its $4 cheaper.

I considered that, but its only at a few selected sites (eg some Telephone boxes) & with the $16 Skinny pack I get 500M of 4G anyway : More than I'll ever need.
I cant imagine I'll be so desperate for data that I'll want to hangout by public ph boxes :)

1380804 2014-08-07 01:28:00 My current Telecom work SIM has free WiFi but I've never used it. No point as you drive past a pay phone so moving to Skinny for me there is no big loss. paulw (1826)
