403635 2005-11-12 01:29:00 ive just done a reformat and reinstall of XP Home and everything is working fine except that i cant install the audio or video drivers. xp recognises what the devices are but when i try to manualy install or use the update driver utilty, the files seem to load but then at the last screen i get a "windows was unable to install the driver due to...."

the video reason is a 'Cyclic redundancey error'
and the audio says 'something about the a I/O thread exit or application request'

can anyone help me with this??? :help:

403636 2005-11-12 01:33:00 Have the other drivers such as the motherboard installed correctly?

A cyclic redundancy error suggests a corrupt file. Try downloading a new driver.

403640 2005-11-12 04:57:00 what else have you done on the pc?

make sure you have turned off any antivirus you have installed .

some drivers you can unpack first then run setup .

any other details on the pc and why it required a reinstall ??

403641 2005-11-12 11:48:00 the pc wouldnt start the other week and had a message about a corrupt c:\windows\system32\config file . tried everything but eventually got my stuff off and did a reformat and reinstall . (i only did the quick format tho) everything is working fine now except theres no audio and the graphics are slow . i dont get any other errors other than when i try to install these drivers .

ill try the antivirus off but it has never been a problem before .
