403968 2005-11-15 22:37:00 I was thinking more along the lines of some one who gets their ancient win98 PC and decides to improve it by attempting to put XP on it.
And thus getting it to go from OK to running like a crippled pig.

403970 2005-11-15 23:36:00 I wonder if anyone will still have 95/98 when longhorn comes out? "Upgrading" that to longhorn would be like building a tank around your car. Greven (91)

I do believe I will, however vista would refuse to install itself onto my win98 machine as did XP for the reason of "not enough ram to copy setup files"

Provided the people who install the OS are not morons who spell your name on the user account wrong and install the wrong drivers for the video card...

403977 2005-11-16 14:21:00 Family buys first computer. Mum thinks "Ooh! new flat surface, I'll put a pot plant on that" Then she waters it........AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGG!
True story I'm afraid and most likley, not uncommon.Place a chain linked barbed wire fence around your lounge box to prevent non-puter-user visitors from using it as a temporary resting place for their bum. Also true story. :yuck:
