404124 2005-11-13 19:49:00 Can I make my XP Home equipped PC believe it's a Win 98 machine in order to run an old program intended for 98? I CAN actually run the pgm in XP but it balks and kicks out with one specific operation.

I seem to remember some mention in PCW of being able to set XP to other Win modes (but maybe not the Home edition??).

404127 2005-11-14 04:59:00 Compatibility mode is not a system setting it is applied to each application where needed.
Right click on the applications executable file and choose properties, select the compatiblity tab and set which ever environment you need ie. win 95 or win 98 etc.
