404797 2005-11-20 05:07:00 Check out www.overclockers.co.nz about the 7800gt as it beats the ati cards hands down and do a google search on it as well and you will see it is so.

My 1st card was a ti4200 with a AMD 1800XP
My 2nd card was a 9600pro with a AMD 2500 Barton/OC to a 3200 Barton
my 3rd card is a 6800/OC to a Ultra with a AMD 64 3500 939

All cards were good I go for both ati and nvidia cards but now I am starting to go more nvidia as they are better for Linux support wise etc.

But go for Whichever card is doing the best at the time of buying.

You Know 5 min later it will be cheaper, not so good etc. as the other company will bring out something better and thats the way it is.

If you can wait to closer to Chirstmas time as both companys will bring out more of their toys for us to buy to put under our Chirstmas trees. :D

404798 2005-11-20 05:23:00 yea i would wait till nearer to xmas but im gona buy my card in the states next week as they are a fair bit cheaper - $309 usd for 7800 gt, that brings me to another point i have been told that american (or another countrys) computer parts are interchangeable with nz parts(apart from video capturing cards tht is), is this true? 404799 2005-11-20 06:17:00 They are all the same except monitors. You might get a card with differant connections on it and cables to what you would get in NZ ie HDTV socket and cable.

Trevor :)
