404518 2005-11-15 12:27:00 My question is this is the PSP good/bad for gameing and everything it does.

If you have one what games do you have for it and which ones are good.

What accessories do you reccommend to buy as well for it,and what do you have for your psp.

How long does the battery last?Worth getting a spare one?

Thank you.

404519 2005-11-15 17:40:00 People say its good. Quite a few ports etc on it. I havent got one myself tho.

The only thing is, if u decide to update its firmware, make sure its not from some crack place on the net. Or it'll make your PSP unusable - A door stop.

Since there's a trojan around atm, that will kill it.

If I update the firmware I will go to the Sony PSP website only.

404521 2005-11-16 09:34:00 If you update the firmware from the sony site it will stop you from playing different format movies other then the sony ones you buy.
Firmware update = hard to mod
memory sticks are still realitively expensive so storage is small.
No I don't own one

404522 2005-11-16 11:05:00 Oh,ok I did not know about that.

Thanks for the info, so its best to leave the firmwear alone then.

What mods can you do to it and what do they do.

Thank you all so far for the info.

404523 2005-11-16 11:48:00 You have to downgrade the firmware from 2.0 to 1.5. This is illegal to do I think as its reverse engineering. Although I doubt Sony is really concerned. Some bastard has released a firmware downgrader which kills your PSP, obviously Sony will not support you in this situation as you have voided the warrenty by playing with the firmware. It is a risk, but can be worth taking. I want to get a PSP purely to load Sega Mega Drive games onto it to use on the bus into uni.

If you play it safe and don't do anything stupid you can hack your PSP to play quite a few old consoles, the list is slowly growing.

404524 2005-11-16 12:49:00 Cool,
good to see people getting into it and developing it like what they have done to the Playstation/Xbox.

I think I might buy one for myself as I will be going overseas at the start of Dec. and will need something for my gameing fix, while I am away from my computer for about 5 1/2-6 months!!!

I will save for one now,and buy one just before I go.

Thanks everyone for the info.

Oh and if you have any other/more info or have a PSP then please post that info as more the better, thanks again.
