405495 2005-11-19 10:32:00 Hi and Welcome to PressF1 :)

Can you be a bit more specific with examples and what you mean by slow? Windows slow to load, games don't run, applications don't open?

When the machine boots up, does it recognise the full amount of RAM? Have you checked for and removed any unnecessary programs from the startup list?

What Antivirus and Firewall are you running?

405497 2005-11-19 10:51:00 remove norton internet security and see what happens

have you done a full virus and spyware scan?

download hijack this, and post your log in here.

405500 2005-11-19 11:14:00 Fact: Norton products consume a lot of memory from your computer. If you want to protect your computer from virus, there are free and effective ones available on the Internet (e.g. AVG, Avast etc.). For firewall protection purpose, you might want to take a look at ZoneAlarm or Sygate Personal Firewall etc.

Have you tried defragmenting your computer, like I said before?

Cheers :)

405503 2005-11-19 13:44:00 Start - Run - Msconfig - Startup tab - then switch everything off, yes everything in the startup tab.

Reboot.
