405362 2005-11-19 19:44:00 And I dont blame Pctek, ive seen some nasty ones that I just _really_ (at the time) wished I could have pawned off elsewhere due to higher priorities
:o

Um, yes...a cop-out I know. :o

And we are all continually learning - IT changes too much to say, thats it, at last I now know everything.
The difference between good techs and bad is the good techs know this.

405363 2005-11-19 20:12:00 I have to disagree with the above,Poppa J,Beetle and I could have sorted the prob, just a pity it was in Auk.
And the only tickets we have are to Wellington.

405364 2005-11-19 20:24:00 Is / are the customer/s willing to pay for any transportation fee, pctek?

Cheers :)

405365 2005-11-19 22:06:00 Just a word of support for Speedy. He is very generous and helpdull with his trawling thru of other people's HJT logs. He shows skill and experince and tolernance as well. No point dissing a person because they don't have as much experience as oneself. That's part of the attraction with this forum, you may get a response from a blundering but keen amateur (as I have been but Speedy is certainly not) or a very skilled/qualified/experinced tech.

Part of the fun is trying to tell the difference.:D

(pctek: if the difference between a good tech and bad tech is that they know they will never know everything then I'm a good tech. LOL)

:2cents:

Some of my helpfull posts (and there are few) come as across giving the impression I know more than I really do. I realise that 90% of what I know is stuff I've just learnt and repeated from tech forums like this one, not from expereince.

Experiience matters more than qualifications but qualifications are (ideally) condensed expereince. In your learning there is no point re-inventing the wheel. :4cents:

The idea what was to dent his ego, His belief that he knows everything will get him the short shift everytime, I certainly would never consider giving work or a recomendation to anyone with that attitude.

Speedie's contribution here is invaluable, no doubt about, And experience will hopefully make him a little wiser. But he wont rise above keen amatuer without that experience.

405367 2005-11-19 22:48:00 OK, just can't say I'd ever noticed that, seems a reasonable joker to me. Pllenty of "I"'m not sure but....."s.

405368 2005-11-19 23:27:00 I don't give 2 ***** what anyone thinks, and dont really care either. Speedy Gonzales (78)
405369 2005-11-19 23:37:00 Well Speedy - I care. You and Metla are a great part of the reason for my daily visits here where I learn something new almost every day. Thanks for your contributions. Scouse (83)
405370 2005-11-19 23:46:00 Somebody lock this thread before it gets out of hand! :horrified bob_doe_nz (92)
405371 2005-11-19 23:55:00 Honestly Metla and Speedy - give it up, and move on. Any more chest thumping and I will close the thread.

Pctech has found a willing victim, err I mean tech, to deal with the computer.
