406264 2005-11-21 19:27:00 Hi there.

We use IE6, and until weekend, exverything was going well, but since then, whenever we type in web address in the Address Bar, it take 30 sec or so before it will connect and the progress bar wakes up at the bottom of the screen. I cant recall installing any programs recently.
Any ideas where I should start looking?

Ive updated and run AVG7, Spybot, Adaware, Pest Patrol but it not made any difference to typed in addresss speed.

Favourites come up straight away.

Another thing, Windows Explorer takes up to 10 seconds to show its contents, when entered from the "Windows" & E key.

Thanks.............John in Mosgiel.

Another thing, Windows Explorer takes up to 10 seconds to show its contents, when entered from the "Windows" & E key . This I've seen happen a lot when a computer is searching for a network drive, or sometimes, a network printer it can't find, either becasue it it from another network, or the PC is off . It holds up the entire process while it has a hunt for a non existant object . Sometimes an old/bad CD in the CD drive can slow it down the explorer window opening on <win> + E .

So in summary:try removing any extra network drives/printers . . can check the cd drive is empty

Hope that helps
