406093 2005-11-21 09:32:00 As we all have by now, been offered the possibility of changing from dialup to broadband, i am interested in finding out how much data I do actually download in a month as most ISP's have options that cap the monthly usage and have slower downloads and extra charges if these caps are exceeded.

Is there any way of recording the monthly usage so as to be able to check out the likely cost of changing up to broadband (over and above the advertised charges)?

Trouble is that when you get broadband you just download more.
The 2 MB plans are a problem, as you might be able to get 1 GB per hour (so blowing a 10 GB cap is very possible in one day).

Remember that the better latency that ADSL provides, will make a huge difference too.
