The Scan Disk will run at bootup if the disk is dirty after a shutdown. This is usually only caused by something writing to the harddrive and not completing it before the system goes down. There is actually registry setting which is set/cleared that causes this. I had an issue with mine when after a big crash my D drive continually had did a scan disk after a reboot even with normal shutdowns. I finally found the setting to mark it clean and it stopped it. So long story short is it only does it when it needs it. |
