Intel LGA775 3.2 GHz CPU

On-board sound is fine.
On-board LAN
On-board Wireless LAN (optional)
Budget: <$300.00
All recommendations & comments are appreciated.

Cheers

406740 2005-11-23 04:08:00 So, have u got any parts for it yet??

The CPU by itself will be over $300.00

You could get something like

This (www.edencomputers.co.nz)

This (www.edencomputers.co.nz)

This (www.edencomputers.co.nz)

There are others, but they're dearer than $300, just for the mobo.

406741 2005-11-23 04:14:00 The budget of <$300.00 if for the Motherboard only. bk T (215)
406742 2005-11-23 04:43:00 Well, all of the links I gave are under $300. They just dont include WLAN.

And only 1 uses DDR2 ram (the dearest one). And all have 8 channel sound.

Wireless LAN is pretty cheap anyway. Just get USB adapters.

406743 2005-11-23 05:19:00 Hey I would dump the intel chip . get a better one for less !!

AMD , then find out the most compatible chipset with the cpu you have chosen , then price$ search for your best buy online .

Why don't you just dump your 'cheap' AMD and and change to Intel??????? If you like AMD, by all means, but don't expect all others to follow your likings!!!!!!

Because AMD kicks the backside of your Intel.

Which makes it good advice, Where as your suggestion is just poor advice, and only the stupid and deluded would follow it.

406747 2005-11-23 12:45:00 The heat output of P4s leaves a lot to be desired.

Is it just me or are the Althon 64 based mobos cheaper?

406748 2005-11-23 18:50:00 bk_T: I myself own an Intel, and long for the days when Intel again will be the better chip again... but alas for now its not happening

If you havent already bought the CPU or motherboard... I would suggest AMD.. as Metla said, it is the better value chip for now, and the foreseeable future
