I used to have a (reasonably cheap) Genius optical mouse that had problems with the scrolling wheel, where it would register scrolling activity when the wheel wasn't even being touched. The final straw was when single clicks registered as double-clicks, prompting the purchase of a MS Intellimouse. So if you can't clean it and get it to work properly, you may need to spend a bit more for one with better build quality. Of course, there may be some applications that don't even check for scrolling events, so the scrolling wheel won't do anything anyway. :) |
