406795 2005-11-23 07:57:00 Howdy folks,
Only a small problem.

I have just run Bootvis and it has reported back that "Warning. Disk write caching is disabled."
Can I enable this and how?
Is it important and what does it do?

Cheers.

406796 2005-11-23 08:03:00 If u use XP, device manager / disk drives / the hdd entry.

Double click on the hdd entry / policies tab. Down the bottom.

406798 2005-11-23 08:57:00 Is it a hard drive?? Bootvis was warning u about?

Or something removable? Like a USB Key / Ipod?

406799 2005-11-23 10:07:00 Mmmm ...
I'll have to have another look now.
I presumed it was the hard drive.

Is there anything is administative services to enable it?
Or the registry maybe?

Look for an entry, saying something like write caching, or similar. It maybe disabled in the BIOS. Which maybe the reason, for it being disabled in windows. If u find the option in the BIOS, enable it.
