406724 2005-11-23 01:07:00 Even though I have GIF animation disabled and a Host file that blocks most adverts the animations on pages like this one ( . thetechzone . com/?m=show&id=439&page=1" target="_blank">www . thetechzone . com) become really annoying when I am trying to read .

Fortunately you can add a Kill button ( . org/wiki/PowerButtons#kill" target="_blank">nontroppo . org) to your Opera's toolbar that will do just that - kill almost anything on a webpage that is annoying you .

The kill button is utterly invaluable . It basically can kill elements on a page . The selected element will be highlighted with a red square, if so this means left-clicking it will remove that element from a page . Press escape or Click kill again to exit the kill mode .

Opera is a FREE alternative browser to Internet Explorer that can be downloaded from www . opera . com or from MajorGeeks ( . majorgeeks . com/Opera_Without_Java_Now_Freeware_d559 . html" target="_blank">www . majorgeeks . com) .

Opera 8 . 51, a security and stability upgrade, has just been released which all current Opera users should install . It is available from the above links .

406726 2005-11-23 01:18:00 Speaking of which 8 . 51 ( . opera . com/download/" target="_blank">www . opera . com) just came out .

The v9 preview has/had a few bugs .

I tried that, and it had too many probs . So, went back to 8 . 5 .

I used to use Opera, but when they released 6.5 a couple of years back it ended up in the recycle bin.

406733 2005-11-23 03:27:00 This kill script does a good job .

You have to be careful, or you'll be looking at completely blank screen lol .

It not only blocks ads . It kills / removes whatever completely . Ads, and text .
