407489 2005-11-25 12:50:00 are there any good opensource antiviruses and firewalls for windows XP out there.

ones that have the option to be run as a windows service would be really nice.

The IPFW (ip firewall) from FreeBSD has been ported to Windows. It is fully open source under the BSD license. See the WIPFW Sourceforge site (http://wipfw.sourceforge.net/). Everything works except for the traffic shaping.

407497 2005-11-26 01:54:00 traffic shaping?

If you run a network you can limit the bandwidth of each client. Good for throttling leachers on p2p, bit-torrent etc using up all the bandwidth.

that would beee very handy,
its not of much importance to me at the moment, and as its open source it will most likly be added within the near future
