407001 2005-11-24 06:24:00 I am on v7.5. Whenever I sign on , it shows me as Online. I change that to Away. If I then Sign Off whilst Away, when I Sign On again I am Online again. Can I make it so that when I Sign On I am always Offline or Away Until I choose different? Thanks... PJ Poppa John (284)
407002 2005-11-24 06:33:00 On the sign on screen you can choose how to appear when signing on. Its under the password box, called status. If MSN signs in automatically you probably won't see it, so sign out and there it will be. wotz (335)

That is what I am doing. But no matter what I Sign Off with, when I come back on line I am Online. PJ

I am truly sorry if this offended you, but I am confused and still unclear at what you were saying :waughh: MSN 7.5? 7.5.0311, is it?

Cheers :)

P.S. Have you tried MSN Messenger 8.0 beta?

407005 2005-11-24 08:52:00 I have the same problem. I think MSN 7.5.xxx signs you into whatever your status was when you signed off. So if you signed off while you were 'online' next time you are signed in, you will be signed in as 'online' regardless of what you want to sign in at the sign in page. mister harbies (5607)

James, I am not offended. Yes MSN 7.5.0311. No to beta 8.0, have not seen it advertised yet.

What I want to happen is for MSN to show OFFLINE evertime I Sign In.
However it always shows ONLINE. PJ

Ah Ha, I am not alone. It did work as I wanted it to in earlier versions of MSN. Probably something I have not clicked. PJ

407008 2005-11-24 17:35:00 I am not aware of such issue, though. Have you tried reinstalling MSN Messenger (though I am quite sure this won't change anything)? MSN Messenger 8.0 Beta is available here ( By any chance, have you tried patching your MSN Messenger with A-Patch and see if anything might change? The link to A-patch is here (http://www.msg****.com/download/516" target="_blank">www.msg****.com/) .
