| 406926 | 2005-11-23 23:28:00 | Hi all, I have a dead inspiron 4000. I would like to know if i can source a cable to plug into the harddrive to retrieve the data. Hard drive is a Travelstar DJSA-210 which slides out. Any help would be great!! |

| 406928 | 2005-11-24 00:38:00 | I just bought a kit from Dick Smiths which enables me to plug the laptop drive into a desktop computer - internally (for the same purpose.. to get data off a dying drive :)) $18 | Myth (110) | ||

(I'm not sure how to make it a slave drive ... you might need to use it as the master on the secondary IDE interface on the desktop.) |

If not you can get those other ones (really cheap at shops like Dick Smith or Chinese shops) and retrieve your files from the Hard Disk. It's easier if you have a USB able one though. | Albert (482) | ||
