| 407598 | 2005-11-25 22:29:00 | I got a new harddrive, its all working, and have given it drive letter of D, and formatted it. (All done through control panel) I am trying to install WinXP onto it. I boot off the disk, go to install it, but all it finds as an install location is C, my existing windows. How do I install it in D ? |

| 407599 | 2005-11-25 22:36:00 | You'll most probably have to do a clean install (boot from the XP CD), and hopefully select the right hdd, so it can format then install XP on it. So, you're going to run 2 XP's on 2 hdds? |

You'll most probably have to do a clean install (boot from the XP CD), and hopefully select the right hdd, so it can format then install XP on it Yup, thats what I am trying to do, but I seem to be able to select C (my original drive), and not D (my new drive). Greg, what exactly am I meant to be looking at for the boot sequence? Original hdd is Master, new is Slave. |
