| 408086 | 2005-11-27 21:13:00 | I'm trying to clean out a Win2000 Pro system by getting rid of every possible application. But when I click on an app to remove the system freezes. Ctrl-Alt-Del does nothing, and I have to switch off at the wall to be able to reboot. Any ideas what can cause this? Thx |

If you don't want to do that then run a few spyware/AV proggies then delete all the app folders and use ccleaner to remove the entries from add/remove programs as well as the startup list. You may have to delete some folders in safe mode as they will be loaded to memory in normal mode Then do a search for anything related to the apps you've deleted and remove them as well. Look in Common files folders etc. for leftovers Then run a good reg cleaner, ccleaners would probably do but something more heavy duty would be better such as registry medic. |
