408104 2005-11-27 10:41:00 I just received my new 1 gig stick of ram and when I stuck it in there and turned on the computer, it said system failed due to cpu overclocking. I had 2x512mb of corsair ddr400 in there before and am trying to add in my new 1gig of corsair ddr400. Can someone help me with this please. tonydat (9318)
408105 2005-11-27 11:11:00 Are you trying to have 3 sticks of DDR400 double sided ram installed, this wont work.

Check your user guide here (dlsvr01.asus.com) {note: thats a direct link to the .pdf}

Page 2-12 is where you will find the configurations that will work.

408106 2005-11-27 11:31:00 thanks alot for the help... also how would i tell the difference between double sided and single sided... i just ordered them.. sorry still a noob about some parts. tonydat (9318)
408107 2005-11-27 11:34:00 My guess is they are all double sided. A easy check is to look on both sides of the stick, if there are chips on both its double sided. Rob99 (151)
408108 2005-11-27 11:39:00 ok so i checked and yes they were both double sided.. however i already tried the 1 gig stick in dimm1 and 1 512 in dimm2 with the same error showing. tonydat (9318)
408109 2005-11-27 11:47:00 do you think taht it is because of the CAS latency being different? does it have to be the same or can one be 2.5 and other be 3.0 tonydat (9318)
408110 2005-11-27 13:34:00 Just change them around untill you find a configuration that works. Rob99 (151)

Then perhaps its not the ram.
Go into the BIOS and put the it back to default settings and then try again.
