408014 2005-11-27 07:33:00 Hi all,

I'm trying to wire up the front panel audio connectors to my MSI K8N Neo Platinum Nforce 3 motherboard.

The wires I have to work with are
EarL
Ear_RetL
EarR
Ear_RetR
Mic_VCC
Mic_Data
Gnd

The pins I have to work with are:

1 Aud_Mic
2 Aud_Gnd
3 Aud_Mic_Bias
4 Aud_VCC
5 Aud_FPOUT_R
6 Aud_Ret_R
7 HP_On
8 Key
9 Aud_FPOUT_L
10 Aud_Ret_L

The headphone pins seem pretty straightforward - Ear L & R on Pins 9 and 5, with the Return wires on 6 and 10. Indeed, the headphones work fine on the front panel. Its the microphone I can't get to work. I figured Mic_VCC related to Aud_VCC, and GND on Aud_GND, but Mic_Data didn't seem to work on either Aud_Mic or Aud_Mic_Bias. Can anyone tell me which goes on which?

Cheers

I would say Mic_VCC would go on pin 1 and Mic_data on pin 3 so theyre connected sideways, not going across the pins.

4 Aud_VCC
7 HP_On
8 Key

Aren't used for the front panel connection. Ran out of tries to enter this above.

Worked well. Thanks Speedy
