2005-11-30 18:43:00 | Right so config . sys loads before autoexec . bat, but now what if I need to load certain drivers from autoexec . bat "like MSCDEX . EXE" before I load "Network card drivers from config . sys" that are stored on CD ? Anyone , Help . . . . | Mike_SA (8956) | |

2005-11-30 19:16:00 | It's actualy a boot disk I'm making to enable CD-Rom access, sothat I can access the network drivers from cd-rom , "Building a multiply network card driver boot disc" coz a stiffy is to small to fit all the drivers onto , so I am booting from a bootable cd structured to be recognised as a A: stiffy and a CD-Rom at the same time .... can you help ? | Mike_SA (8956) | |
2005-11-30 19:17:00 | O , and I am using DOS 6.22 / Win 89 Boot Disk basicaly to create it from... | Mike_SA (8956) | |
2005-11-30 19:31:00 | So, is windows 98 installed now?? If it is, why dont you just chuck the cd in, while you're in windows?? And install the network drivers from windows? A disk should hold a few files, just to make a cd work . Or you could get a bootdisk from here (http://www . bootdisk . com/)

2005-11-30 19:39:00 | no the problem is i need a cd / disk that has drivers for +/_ 20 diffirent laptops's network cards "NDIS2 Drivers" to start the lan cards from dos, but I need to get MSCDEX.EXE to run first befor I can access the lan drivers from the CD. It is to do remote installations and remote imaging of hard drives with, like a ghost book disk, but on cd, with the addition of about 19 more LAN drives than what you can build up with ghost. Ghost also only creates either a cd-rom enabling boot disk , or a single network card enabling boot disk , see my predicament ? | Mike_SA (8956) | |
2005-11-30 19:48:00 | Ok . Well, I would find out what laptops use what drivers first . The drivers may not be the same . Then download the dos based drivers for them, (from the makers site), then burn them to cd . And make the cd bootable thru something like Nero Burning Rom .

2005-11-30 19:52:00 | Done that , but you still have to get the cd-rom drivers to load before the network card drivers which sit in the config.sys file which is loaded befor the autoexec.bat file that holds the cd-rom drivers .... hmmmm | Mike_SA (8956) | |
2005-11-30 20:04:00 | Have you got a generic cd driver install file on floppy somewhere?? If you have u can boot from it, and it'll add entries to the autoexec bat file and config . sys .

2005-11-30 20:14:00 | I Have 14 diffirent CD-ROM drivers that cover every cd-rom and dvd drive , the thing is , that the boot image is a 1.44 boot image on the same disk as the drivers, but the net drivers are on the cd-rom partitian, and the cd-rom drivers from the 1.44 partition on the cd only get loaded after the net drivers that get loaded in the config.sys file... | Mike_SA (8956) | |
