409046 2005-11-29 08:44:00 Could you start it insafe mode, and either use system restore to go back, and then uninstall windows blinds but save that dll file first? Sorry, most likely no help, but might get you up and running again, if you start in safe mode. supergran (108)
409047 2005-11-29 08:52:00 Look here (groups.google.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
409048 2005-11-30 08:54:00 Speedy, he/she said she couldn't even get Xp to start, or past the log on window, so hopefully they can do what you said in safe mode. Otherwise how are they going to access 'run'? Not hassling you, just wondering how you get to *run* if you can't get past the log on screen. supergran (108)
409049 2005-12-05 03:06:00 The Ux theme . dll is a modified theme . Boot into safe mode: hit F8 during startup, go to Start/Control Panel/Display (or right click the desktop/properties) . Choose Themes tab and in the combo box list choose WindowsXP . This should reset the theme to standard . Windows should start normally .

You could also uninstall the theme modifacation software, although I know ux can be installed by copying the dll to your system . If this is the case you will need to do some registry hacking to get rid it completly, be careful!

You should also consider a rebuild of Windows, either a repair install or complete .

I rebuild my three pc's at least every six months . I find they perform much better with a fresh rebuild . Consult your PC documentation and back up your My Documents, Photos, Email addresses and email, at the very least before attempting any maintenance .

Hope this helps .
