2005-11-28 22:19:00 | I'm new to this DVD writing lark but managed one successfully. Then tried to copy a DVD video which turned out to have 7.2GB on it. How do I split this into two and write it onto two DVDs?

2005-11-28 23:17:00 | As Metla said, you can decrease the compression or get a video editor, split the video halfway through and save it on two DVDs. :) | maccrazy (6741) | |
2005-11-28 23:18:00 | You of all people should know better :p Seriously if you use DVD Decrypter you can specify the size of the image parts.

2005-11-28 23:24:00 | Actually I er....um..... have DVD Decrypter and might (if Metla is right  ) now have two versions of DVD Shrink. I just can't seem to see where Decrypter can split the file - or does that need to be done at the beginning? And DVD Shrink can't seem to find the file on the hard drive. Decrypter seems to save it all on its own - sort of a virtual DVD drive?

2005-11-28 23:30:00 | If you still have the origional DVD, just use shrink on it, if you also have nero installed Shrink will also allow you to burn the DVD. look here (robnairn.orcon.net.nz 'n' Burn with DVD Shrink.htm)

2005-11-28 23:32:00 | Try the tools menu, settings, ISO read mode, file splitting - pick an option I haven't used it yet but saw that it's there. You could always buy a dual layer disk to write on if your writer supports them. Yeah I know they are still expensive but gee you've got to justify those fees somehow.

2005-11-28 23:34:00 | I have never used DVD Decrypter to split an iso so I can't help ya there. But both DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink give the option to save as an ISO, Video files or Burn to DVD. And both can open files that are on the HD, it will be in the options/preferences somewhere.....Think with Shrink its a matter of going file>open files, rather then having it point to the DVD Drive.
