408356 2005-11-28 20:11:00 Ive a landscape scene, at the bottom of which I need to place a long rectangular box, with a black border and white fill, overtop which I will add some text.

I can create the outline of the box, but how do I fill it in white?

Currently I have an Elipse when I use this tool, where do I change it to a Rectangle?

Another question, with the Draw Preset Shape up on screen, how do I either remove this from the default tool and or change back to Text.

And finally, with text, how do I alter the stroke thickness.

Thanks John in Mosgiel.

408357 2005-11-28 21:50:00 John you need to use the Tool Options. Press O (oh) on the keyboard to bring it up. Or chose it from view / toolbars

From there choose the rectangle shape.

Once you have drawn it You then need to click on Object Selector, its the last icon down the left hand side, looks like a cursor arrow in a square with black dots on each corner.

In the object selector click on Properties.
In Properties set the stroke - line around the box and the Fill, - color inside the box to whatever you want.

Once I have made my object got the size right and given it a basic color (not a gradient) then I turn it from a vector image (which is what it is initially, dots with lines joining them) to a raster image (typical picture made up of coloured pixels. )

Do this in the menu list by going Layers/ Convert to raster layer.

When its raster you can then use the flood fill and other effects to better set your colors.

Good luck :)

PSP7 is a powerful program, to bad its most inviting features are so obscure and hidden away.

I need to use PSP7 as the text on the images changes day by day, till everybodys happy with the result. Otherwise I would be using MSPaint in which the above acton is a breeze.
