408359 2005-11-28 08:54:00 When I try to open multiple documents in MS Word bt selecting them and then right clicking an choosing open results in a "Move file" dialog box opening. I have seen a fix for when this happens in explorer but it does not work dfor word. PT7 (7706)
408360 2005-11-28 10:10:00 Certainly in Word 2003 that is not a useable option, and results in an error warning you that a dialogue box is open.

You have to use the "Open" button which closes the "Open" dialogue box and opens the files.

408361 2005-11-28 21:43:00 I am using word XP
Selecting multiple documents and using the right mouse button to open the files works fine on my laptop but not the desk PC. I saw an article on a similar problem in windows explorer, which was attributed to problems associated with the right mouse button assignments (possibly a conflict between different programmes that have a right click menu). The fix was to edit various registry keys. The problem is which ones?

408362 2005-11-28 23:12:00 Can you clarify, are you viewing the documents in Windows Explorer or in Word "Open" view.

My comments related to the latter, but on re-reading the post and your response its just not clear.

In Windows explorer it should work, but not if viewing the files from within Word itself.
