| 409588 | 2005-12-03 05:20:00 | Hey, I have a computer with Windows 2000 on it . I would like to format it . Im not sure if this is how you do it . 1 . I put the Windows 2000 cd into my cd-rim 2 . I Restart the computer and wait for the computer to detect that i have a windows installation cd inside . But it doesnt detect it :mad: . I have checked the bios on start up and the cdrom is first preference . Do i need a boot up disk or some sort? Hope someone can help me :) pigg |

| 409589 | 2005-12-03 05:29:00 | I just checked in the FAQ section, then went to How to Formart Your Computer . This is what i found: In Windows 95 and 98, and maybe ME (I don't have immediate access to ME or NT or XP) go to: Start>Control Panel, then select Add/Remove Programs Click on the Startup Disk tab and make the floppy disk . You may need your Windows CD for this . So i go to control panel the Add/Remove Programs but i cant find the Startup Disk . ANyone help? thanks |

| 409590 | 2005-12-03 05:36:00 | Did u see a message on the post screen saying press a key? No u dont need a floppy, the cd should be bootable. Is the 2000 cd a legit version, or did u copy it from an original 2000 cd? You usually chuck the cd in go into the BIOS and make the cd the bootable disk, save the bios settings, then reboot. Then it should bring up the message above. This is when u press a key, so it installs Windows. |
